About PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating reaction to trauma, characterized by psychological symptoms such as intense fear, intrusive thoughts, and flashbacks. People suffering from PTSD typically experience intense physiological reactions, especially in situations associated with their trauma; many also experience depression. PTSD is a very serious psychological condition that can significantly affect one’s ability to function socially, psychologically, and professionally.
Ketamine and PTSD
Ketamine has gained popularity in recent years as an option for patients whose PTSD has not responded to other treatments. According to research, individuals reported a decrease in symptoms after one treatment of ketamine for PTSD. San Francisco’s Office of Veterans Affairs has even started offering ketamine treatments to veterans whose PTSD and depression have not responded to more standard treatments.
OUR PROCESS
Each person and condition is unique, so we developed a process to ensure you have the best outcomes from your infusions. At Veritas MindHealth, we take extra time to understand your condition and challenges when creating a treatment plan. Our Medical Director developed this process after 30 years of administering anesthesia to thousands of individuals.
Your comfort is our priority. Your treatment will take place in your own private, well-lit room in our quiet office, and will be monitored directly by our medical director, not a nurse or assistant.
